Spring into Service SSR Sleepout at Karingal
Junior Guides, Guides and Leaders gathered at Karingal for the annual sleep under the stars to raise funds for Youth Off the Streets and Karingal Campsite.
Skies were overcast and a little rain fell early in the night. Games were played and soup was had, followed by a great campfire, courtesy of Claire, the Junior Leader from Grays Point Possum Junior Guides. Songs were sung, marshmallows roasted and by 11.30pm all the girls were snuggled into their bedrolls, tarps and asleep.
Bed roll skills were put to the test when it poured with rain in the middle of the night, but it cleared away for the morning pack up. Our Region Leader, Jenny Hull, came for closing ceremony and gave Summer from Maroubra Brownie Guides the prize for raising the most money. Glebe Junior Guides took out the prize for the most money raised by a unit.
Well done to all the girls and leaders who came along for a fun (and slightly wet) night of service, we hope to see you next year!
