Surrounded on almost all sides by water (Georges River, Tasman Sea, Port Hacking River, Woronora River), water activities have long been integral to Guiding activities in the Sutherland Shire Region.

Bindaree opened as the Water Activities Centre of the Sutherland Shire Region Guides on 5 December 1999, and is located on the Woronora River, in Prince Edward Park in the Sutherland Shire.

Bindaree is a purpose-built facility, well supplied with boating equipment, including canoes, paddles and pfds in a variety of sizes. There is a modern kitchen, as well as a bathroom with shower facilities.
